The Share Issue
The share issue has been designed to provide local residents and anyone who has an interest in Styal Village with the chance to contribute financially to our Community Store and Café, in the expectation of receiving a social dividend rather that a financial return. This share issue has been designed to give you an opportunity to contribute financially,on a long-term basis, to the business. You don’t need to be a resident of Styal Village to invest and a separate form needs to be completed for each family member and children over 14 years old can apply.
The social dividend of having a Community Store and café will mean different things to different people. To some it will be the convenience of being able to pop in for their daily paper or pint of milk. To others a place to meet friends in the café for a drink and a cake and catch up on their news. For many it may be the nearest place to do their shopping.
Of course there is the truly social aspect of the Store and Café, as a meeting place and focal point for the village, somewhere to post advertisements, have a coffee and keep up to date with village news.
